Location

The Terminal is located on Auckland Street - just a 5 minute walk from the centre of town.

Hours of Operation

The Picton terminal is open between 4.30 am and 10.15 pm Tuesday to Sunday, and between 8am and 10.15pm Monday. Opening hours may be subject to change, in line with changes of timetable.

Taxis

There is a designated taxi stand outside the terminal. If there are no taxis waiting, terminal staff will order one for you.

Refreshments

A café/shop operates between 9.00am and 6.00pm daily.

Rental Car

A wide range of rental car company offices are located directly outside the terminal.

Directions to Terminals

• If you are driving from State Highway 1 you should follow the road signs for the Wellington Ferry / Interislander Terminal.
• If you wish to return a rental vehicle you should check with the rental car provider about the nearest drop-off location.
• If you're planning to drive your vehicle onto the ferry, vehicle check-in is off Lagoon Road.
• If travelling without a vehicle the Interislander terminal is an easy 3 minute walk from Picton's shopping centre.

Parking

Port Marlborough provides 60 minute car parking near the Picton terminal entrance, free of charge.  Please observe the well sign-posted parking limits.

A number of longer-term parking options are also available.

Long(er)-term parking is available approximately 200 metres from the terminal (near the Old Railway Station). This is Pay and Display and costs $1 per hour, or $5 per day. The pay and display machine is located in the main long-term car park. Port Marlborough have also allowed part of the 60 minute car park to be used as long-term overflow when the main long-term park is full, but you must have a pay and display ticket. Coins for the pay and display machine can be obtained from the Interislander Ticket Counter.

Marlborough Sound Storage provides covered vehicle storage. Bookings are recommended.

When using any of these long-term parking facilities, please allow extra time to check in.

Facilities

The terminal provides card phones, toilets/disability access toilets, internet kiosks, an accommodation phone board, arcade games, and snack/drink vending machines.

Coin operated storage lockers are available at a cost of $2 for 6 hours, and coin operated showers and laundry facilities are located outside the terminal.
