Standard Rates Include

Minimum Rental Duration and Costings
Minimum rental period: 5 days. Minimum rental is extended to 10 days for the travel period from 20 December to 05 January. Vehicle rentals are calculated on a per calendar day basis, i.e. day of pick up and drop off is always counted as a full day irrespective of what time it is collected or dropped off.
Long-term Rental
Special conditions apply for rentals of more than 50, 75 and 100 days. Our Website will quote you the discounted rates.

One-Way Rental Fee
One-way rentals are available between all depot locations. A one-way rental fee of NZ300 will apply to rentals between 1 October 2009 and 31 March 2010.
Multiple Rentals
Multiple rentals can be combined to qualify for a longer-term rental rate. Australia and New Zealand rentals can be combined if minimum of 5 days per Country and travel is within a 12 months period.
Excess Reduction
All KEA Campers vehicles come with comprehensive insurance cover. A standard excess of NZ$5,000.00 applies in the event of any damage to either our vehicle or third party property.
The hirer will also be fully liable for the daily rental rate for the period the vehicle is off fleet for accident repairs (max 7 days) and for replacing or repairing damaged windscreens and tyres. Overhead and under-body damage is not covered.
KEA Campers offer the following two (2) options to reduce or waive the Standard Excess
Excess Reduction Option 1
Lowers your Exceess but you are still liable for demurrage, windscreen, tyres and overhead or under-body damage. Bond is NZ$2000

Stress Free Package
As an alternative to choosing an Excess Reduction option, we do offer the Stress free package for an extra NZ$55 per day which includes great extras such as:
- Full Cover Insurance (Nil Excess)
- Windscreen, Tyre repairs
- Overhead and Under-body Damage
- The standard one-way fee on all rentals
- Camping Equipment- Chairs, Table, Sun umberella
- Multilingual GPS navigation system
- Baby capsule or child/Booster seat (if required)
- Snow Chains (if required)
Bond required with this pakage is $500
Security Bond:
A security bond of NZ$5,000 will be taken on vehicle collection.
The security bond can be paid by cash, travellers cheque or credit card. Should the bond be paid by credit card the amount will be debited to your account immediately, any currency fluctuations and bank fees are not the responsibility of KEA Campers.
PLEASE NOTE: Electronic Credit cards are not accepted for Bond Payments. An electronic credit card is one where the numbers are not raised.
This bond is reduced if you reduce your excess - full details will be provided on your quote.
The bond is fully refundable on return of the vehicle to the agreed location, on the agreed date, with no damage incurred to the KEA Campers vehicle or third party property and the toilet cassette and wastewater tank has been emptied and no items are lost or damaged.

Cancellation and Amendments
In the case of cancelling your reservation, the deposit is Non Refundable. In addition there is a NZ$100 cancellation fee. A No Show is considered as a cancellation.
Amendments are charged at a rate of NZ$50 per change. This applies but is not limited to changing the client name, vehicle type, reducing the number of rental days, changing the pickup dates or locations. No refund will be given on the initial deposit paid.
If an amendment is made to the rental whereby the length of hire is shortened, no refund will be given on the initial deposit amount. In addition, if an amendment is made inside 14 days of pick up, the rental will be charged at the number of days originally booked.
Where the hire is being extended, the amendment fee will not apply.
Please note that amendments may result in the daily rental rate to be recalculated at the rate applicable on the date of the amendment for the entire rental period.
Change of Vehicle
If, for reasons beyond our control, the reserved vehicle is not available, we reserve the right to substitute a comparable or superior vehicle at no extra cost to the client. This shall not constitute a breach of contract and does not entitle the hirer to any form of refund.
Vehicle Category Downgrade/ Upgrade
Vehicles cannot be requested by model, mileage or age, only by vehicle category. Should the hirer decide to take a lesser category vehicle than booked within 14 days of pickup or during the rental, no refund will be paid. In the case of an upgrade the rate difference is payable.
Licence and Minimum Age
A valid current full (non-provisional) drivers licence is required. National drivers licences that are not in English need to be presented in conjunction with an official translation or valid international drivers licence. The minimum age is 21 years.
Travel Restrictions
Motorhomes can only be driven on sealed/bitumen or access roads. No vehicle shall be driven on the following roads: Skippers Canyon Road, Ball Hutt Road, 90 Mile Beach, all unsealed ski access roads. No vehicle is to come in
contact with salt water, no smoking or animals permitted inside vehicles.
Smoking and Animal restrictions
Smoking in KEA vehicles is strictly prohibited, and offernders will be charged a fume removal fee of NZ$500. Animals are also not permitted in any KEA vehicle and the same cleaning fee will apply.
Limit of Liability
If, for reasons beyond our contrl, no vehicle is available to the hirer, KEAs liability is limited to a refund of the hire charge in full. In the case of mechanical failure (unless caused by the hireer) KEA liability is limited to the hire charge for the remainder of the hire period.
Repairs
Repairs of up to NZ$100 may be affected without authorisation and will be reimbursed. Amounts above NZ$100 require approval from KEA on-road assistance.
Traffic Infringements
The hirer is liable for all fines and penalties in relation to the drivers use of eth vehicle or the vehicle itself incurred during the rental period plus an administration fee of NZ$25 for each infringement or penalty notice that has been redirected to the hirer.
Exclusions
The renter is fully liable for any damage to the KEA Campers vehicle or third party property if:
a) The terms of the rental contract are breached.
b) Damage to the vehicle is caused by careless, wilful or reckless driving
c) Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
d) Driving on restricted roads.
e) Water submersion or salt-water damage caused through own fault.
f) Damage caused by use of incorrect or contaminated fuel
g) Damage to or loss of any personal belongings
In case of any damage to the KEA Campers vehicle or third party property a second bond will be collected to cover the excess for any subsequent damage. If Manual vehicle is hired the driver must be a competent and experienced operator of manual vehicles.
Vehicle Return
All vehicles must be returned to the agreed location, on the agreed date in a clean condition with no damage incurred to the KEA vehicle or thrid party property. With the toilet cassete and wastewater tank emptied and no equipment lost or damaged. A fee of NZ$100 will be charged if the toilet cassette is not emptied or the vehicle is not returned in reasonable condition.
Vehicles must be returned with a full fuel tank. Re-fuelling at our depot will be charged at NZ$3.00 per litre of fuel plus a handling fee of NZ$25.
First Aid Kit
A first Aid Kit is supplied in each vehicle. If the seal is broken or the kit in not returned, a fee of NZ$25 is charged at teh time of vehicle drop off.

Rates and conditions may be subject to change. While featuring the same facilities, some campers may have different layouts to those shown. All measurements, volumes, fuel consumption etc. are approximate. The information provided on the website is subject to change without notice.
Any claims or legal action in connection with the provision of KEA services to the client will be governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any claim or legal action against the suppliers is likely to be subject to the terms and conditions of KEAs contract with them.
